Abstract
Even though there is no cure for ovarian cancer, my group wishes to find out the factors that can affect the increasing risk of having ovarian cancer and how to lower the amount of people it affects each year through preventions and the reduction of Ovarian Cancer that we are going to research on. We hope to achieve the knowledge on what is common similarities between the victims diagnosed with ovarian cancer. We also hope to find what can women do to reduce the risk of ovarian cancer without removing their ovaries permanently. Our research is important as Ovarian cancer is one of the top ten cancers in Singapore that women suffer from, however not alot of people are aware of it. With our research, not only might we be able to raise awareness and understanding of this cancer, but also get to let others know how to reduce the risk of it and even how to prevent it. We aim to lower the risk of women being diagnosed with ovarian cancer and it can be crucial information to people who are concerned and stressed out about it, especially, those whose Ovarian Cancer has been in the family lines. After our research, people may alter their their daily activities, and in turn, lower the amount of people being diagnosed with ovarian cancer and prevent themselves from suffering. To further extend our knowledge of women cancer and to see similarities between Ovarian Cancer and Breast Cancer, we also decided to research a bit on breast cancer, the top and most common women cancer in Singapore.
